This guide will walk you through a simple step-by-step process for how to get started with SELF, and to make it the most useful it can be.
Click on 'Sign Up / Sign In' or 'Launch SELF' from the homepage. Enter the required information, including a referral code if you have one, and once you press 'Create account', check your email for a verification code.
Enter the six-digit code, which will complete your registration.
If you prefer to create an account using Google, that option is also available. All this does is enable SELF to see your Google email address and nothing else. You can revoke that access at any time, of course.
The dashboard currently has 4 sections enabled:
Chat: Where all conversations with SELF take place.
Subscription: Upgrade to a Premium or VIP subscription to increase your daily message limit.
Referral program: Here, you will find your referral code, number of referrals and the amount of $SELF you’ve earned.
Preferences: This is where you manually enter your preferences (labelled 'Added by you'). Any preferences that SELF has picked up during conversations will also appear on this page (labelled 'Generated by SELF'). You can edit or delete both types of preferences by clicking the 3 dots in the right corner of each preference input window.
Start a dialogue about anything. The more SELF knows about you, the more useful it becomes. It may be tempting to view SELF as an AI assistant and just fire instructions at it, but the magic happens when you've trained your SELF to be a digital version of you. Then, it's like having an advert-free search engine that knows what you prefer, or a private AI that remembers all your preferences.
Each user's SELF builds its own unique neural network - a layer through which any external data retrieval processes are filtered (the neural networks of two different SELFs won't ever be the same). As you engage with and teach your SELF about yourself and those around you, the more mature and useful SELF becomes. You can think of this a bit like a gamified aspect of SELF. As you build out your personal SELF profile, you get to watch SELF grow and evolve. Not only does what you share now help the current version of SELF serve you better, but it also prepares your unique SELF profile and user data for an even more futuristic version of SELF - years ahead.
Add your preferences manually or tell SELF about yourself, your life and your preferences through conversation. SELF is eager to learn anything from likes, dislikes, and future plans to personality traits, habits and the names of your significant others. SELF will remember and store everything in your private and secure memory bank, and you can update what's remembered via the preferences screen or during conversations.
You may find you use SELF to summarise information, for research or to produce summarised product reviews based on what you've already told SELF you prefer. Or perhaps you use SELF as a personal advisor, offering guidance and support adapted to what you resonate with.
Even in its beta version, there are many exciting functionalities to explore, and we’re sure you’ll find your favourite ways of using it as you dive deeper into your SELF.
